Course Overview

This advanced qualification is designed for experienced professionals in beauty or tattooing who want to specialise in laser or non-laser tattoo removal. It provides a comprehensive blend of theory, consultation techniques, skin analysis, and practical application using advanced removal methods.

The course will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to meet UK licensing and insurance requirements and confidently perform safe, effective tattoo removal procedures in clinical or salon environments.

The qualification is suitable for learners aged 16+, with prior qualifications in beauty therapy or anatomy and physiology at Level 3 or above.

Qualification Structure

To achieve the qualification, learners must complete a total of 46 credits:

• 31 credits from mandatory units

• 15 credits from optional units (choose laser or non-laser tattoo removal)

Mandatory Units:

• Advanced Skin Science – 9 credits | GLH: 65

• Aesthetic Practice Core Knowledge – 12 credits | GLH: 92

• Provide Investigative Consultation and Advanced Skin Assessment – 10 credits | GLH: 75

Optional Units (choose one):

• Laser Tattoo Removal – 15 credits | GLH: 110

• Non-Laser Tattoo Removal – 15 credits | GLH: 110

Entry Requirements

• Minimum age: 16

• You must hold either:

  • A Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification

  • A Level 3 Award in Anatomy and Physiology

  • Or be occupationally competent in tattooing
